How the Mosquito Traps Work
The mosquito stations we use are made of durable plastic and uses water with an odour lure to attract egg-laying Aedes and Culex mosquitos. Once inside, mosquitos contact the specially treated gauze near the water surface and get contaminated with a larvicide and a fungus. We exploit the fact that Aedes and Culex like to divide their eggs over multiple sites; by letting them fly out of the Station whilst carrying larvicide on their legs. They transport the larvicide and contaminate several breeding sites around the Station. In this way, we can kill larvae in small and hard to find breeding sources. The mosquito also gets infected with an insect-specific fungus that kills her before she can spread any disease.
Our Mosquito Control Process
Thorough Assessment. Our mosquito control process begins with a comprehensive assessment of your property. We identify mosquito breeding sites, potential habitats, and any factors that may contribute to mosquito infestations.
Strategically Place the Traps. Based on the assessment, we decide how many traps are needed and where to place them. We will only place the traps in areas that will not inconvenience you or your pets while also optimizing likelihood of maximum effectiveness.
Regular Monitoring and Maintenance. The mosquito traps will need to be refreshed and/or replaced throughout the season. We will regularly monitor your property and the traps, typically refreshing or replacing the traps every six weeks.
Long Term Eco-Friendly Solution. If you don’t wan’t the traditional barrier spray or need a more budget friendly option then this solution could be for you! These mosquito traps are effective while also being environmentally friendly.

How long until I can expect results?
The traps can take several weeks to take full effect on your property. For quick relief, we typically recommend an initial barrier spray at the start of the mosquito trap treatment.
How often will you service the trap?
It will ultimately depend on your specific needs and situation, but we will typically replace traps every 6 weeks.
Do I need to do anything with the trap?
You do not need to do anything with them! We will place them in areas around your home that will not be an inconvenience to you.

Is it safe for my family and pets?
The traps are very safe, containing larvicides that are curated to only harm mosquitos.
